A Note to my friends on Windows Live.

Just a quick note to all my friends on Windows Live. I will not be around much for the foreseeable future as I am entering one of my contemplative, no one likes me, everyone has gone off me, can’t be bothered to post,  tearful phases, and so as usual I would rather not post when I am feeling this way.  It’s awfully quiet on here anyway, so probably I won’t be missed much.

As some will be aware, I do go ‘off’ during the winter months, its par for the course, and akin with that I never feel like doing anything much. Hope that you don’t all forget about me before the Spring arrives. Of course if my mood does happen to lift for a short time, then you might get some sort of effort but I can’t promise anything.

I shall be trying to continue with my Newbie’s help posts in the Clubhouse, but even that is becoming a chore at the moment.

Sorry to waffle on about myself and how I feel at this time, but just didn’t want you all to wonder where I was.

    TG

Not a waffle. Appreciate the days/week it just doesn't happen. Gets rain grey gloomy in YVR. So sometimes the body-psyche just needs down time to recharge? We'll look for you. We would miss you. Take care. Self-care is first priority.

Now listening to Smokey Robinson via Spotify.... mind you some of his music is a bit sad.....ooops! He was on the TV in HD the other night, the BBC Electric Proms brilliant! His voice is still great
    Nov. 3
Yes Tricia! I have now downloaded Spotify again and will listen to some of my favourite music as I type away! How can anyone be sad for any length of time with friends on here? that's why I love it so.

And Doc, when we work out all the logistics I'll definitely go 50/50 with you!! Do you think we can get WLS team to market it??

Hey!! I'm staying on ... surrounded by my halo of SAD-specific ring light ... except for the odd excursion out to watch you kick those pedestrians into (or was it out of) puddles!! LOL if I was feeling down before, I'm now ROTF !!!
As to the no bath thing ... just put on SInging in the Rain as you shower!!
Which reminds me that Music is another great anti-dote to SAD.

Oh dear! You can't even wallow in your own self pity on here can you? LOL Tricia, I forgot to thank you for your kind invite to Italy, I will be tempted to take you up on that in Winter time! Some good suggestions except K and I haven't a bath to wallow in, I am determined to begin going out in the rain, pity isn't it that we loose our childish desire to play in it, kicking it up in the air (mind you I have come awefully close to doing that to some pedestrians sometimes) and I am not short of hugs nor the foot massages as K is excellent at both. Doc, let me know when you have patented that idea will you? LOL
You are all so kind on here, and yes Mandy that is a worry, that by the time we get these updates, no one will be left on here. (well apart from me of course, left holding the fort)
    Nov. 3
@ Tricia: You just gave me an idea and I was wondering if you'd like to go 50/50 on patenting and manufacturing it. How about a computer monitor with a SAD-specific ring light surrounding it? Sort of like having your cake and eating it too. Or maybe we could form a consortium of some sort. ... (Doc floats off on the cloud produced by his latest crackpot scheme.)

    Peace, Doc

I'm also a SAD sufferer .... and have found many different ways to minimize its affects ..... colourful clothes (at least not black or brown), fresh flowers in the room, food with colour combinations (orange, green, yellow, reds), sunlight (obviously), fresh snow, walking outside, strangely even in drizzle, NOT watching TV or letting my mind get stuck in a worry groove, limiting my time infront of the PC, laughter, crying, writing, massage or foot rub, hot bath with some essential oils in the water, various scents help too, so burning essential oils can help. And the best of all (barring sitting in the sun) is a good hug from someone near and dear .....So TG, shut your eyes, and imagine a really good hug .................

As I said on the other site, I'm also a SAD sufferer and agree about the snow, course that's until it goes slushy and dirty looking! I think we may also feeling the effects of the lack of any news/update from Live on what's going to happen here, it'll be a shame if once they do do something there will be no one left to see it

I am feeling much better this morning and so might get around to a post to keep you all amused (or not as the case may be!) Funny you should mention Snow Tricia, because when it snows, it actually helps and makes me feel much better. snow reflects all the available light, brightens what you see, so for SAD sufferers funnily enough, it can be a god send. You can all find out more info about SAD and how and why it affects folk in our country in particular here http://www.sad.org.uk/

Well, TG, when I get to Italy you must come visit in winter .... it may be cold, but the sun does shine most days and the sight of it glistening off the snow capped mountains lifts the heart.

Bless you for the way you lift others spirits and your care of K and so many others on WLS. I doubt if I would have stayed with this if it wasn't for your help and comments. Don't cut yourself off from the one ray of sunshine in the midst of winter gloom. Big hugs ......

I just don't know what to say to you all. You are all too kind. I just get so down at this time of year and can't be bothered with anything. (In fact if I didn't have K here I would have gone under years ago, cos' I just wouldn't bother even getting out of bed, but only those who suffer from depression understand that...) Everything's an effort including my beloved blogging. I didn't say I wouldn't come on here and read your efforts though, just that there might not be much coming from the pen of technogran (well not pen, more writer)
Doc, yes I know about those lamps and would prefer that my doctor prescribed one of those than placing me on anti-depressants. You and I are far more similar than you realize Doc, we both love to make others laugh while we silently cry inside, I have always been that way even when younger (trying to be the joker making others laugh) You will understand..... I am so touched by all your comments really I am. (I hate winter, I wish I could emigrate during winter time, or live where its always daylight) Thanks all of you for your kind words.

Hey TG, l understand about reacting to the change of season. The days getting so damn short is dreadful! l find the Internet to be helpful. Not a cure - but helpful. lt's a long time till spring. l'm going to be looking into finding a new game on Facebook - something that will be as involving and diverting to me as Farm Town was when l started that. l've heard good things about Evony. Have you tried any games?
Like Penny, l'm wishing you many sunny days TG.

Hey you! You're infringing on my depression territory with this post. I gave myself permission to slack off and not write as frequently or as entertainingly as I had been trying. I wasn't living up to my own expectations. That does begin to feel like a burden when one thinks that one's efforts go unappreciated. I simply decided to write when I felt I had something new or entertaining or couldn't stifle a haiku. If you wanna play in my zoo in that other place on the Darkside, you're more than welcome.

More seriously, speaking of light and dark and SAD, you do know that there are full sunlight spectrum lamps available for home use, don't you? I don't believe they are a cure-all, but they have been shown to be beneficial to people using them only one or two hours a day (even as a desk lamp.) If you'd like, I'd be happy to find some of the reputable manufacturers for you. We Spacers have to take care of each other, after all.

    Peace, Doc

Hey TG sorry to hear you're feeling this way...I agree totally with your friend Jen...you mustn't hide yourself away! Even if you don't feel like blogging and there's no obligation is there? you can still pop round and have a look in on your friends blogs...again no obligation to comment but at least you won't be isolating yourself during this difficult time of the year for you. Icewolfie hug... ;))

Hiya T.G. I know you suffer from "SAD" but it really would be a shame if you let it stop you from posting on here. Just don't feel you have to be upbeat all the time. I have been guilty of laziness on WLS lately. I tend to read posts but cannot think of a response. I would miss your posts if you were to stop doing them. I loved your Halloween post and photos and the same goes for your swimming pool ones. Keep the faith, T.G. you have a strong readership. May the sun shine on you, Pen.
